I have successfully been able to use the "Split Diff at Selection" functionality that appears in the Merge menu. However, I can't find the menu item to join diffs in the Merge menu.

Attached is a zipped BMP graphic file showing the Merge menu that I see when I run v0.9.92 on Windows 2000.
