[Kdiff3-user] says manual merge but text is identical

Hi, I'm new to kdiff3 so if this is a silly question, please bear with me!

I'm comparing two directories and kdiff3 always sets the operation for
the files to "Merge (manual)", however when I 2x-click on any of the
files I get a dialog box which says "Files A and B have equal text."

What's going on?

I'm using v0.9.87 on Windows XP.
