Some editors or file viewers have nice feature - when some text is selected, they start searching from end of selected text. I would like to see similar feature in Kdiff too. Today I was searching for something and has to press F3 few tens times before I reached place where I wanted to search.
I agree - this would be a very nice option to have.
Somewhat related, it would be helpful to have an option to search only from the matched lines where the text is highlighted to the end of each of the 2 (or 3) documents without searching lines above that point in any of the documents.
It would also be helpful to have the option for search to start in the document where the text is highlighted (i.e., if the searched text is highlighted in document 2, search to end of document 2 before searching document 3 or document 1).
Finally, it would also be nice at times to search horizontally across matched lines in documents before searching vertically to the next matched lines, rather than searching vertically all the way through one document before searching the next document.
Perhaps each of these 4 options could be selected via a check-box on the existing "Search text" dialog:
[ ] Search from highlighted text
[ ] Start search in highlighted document
[ ] Search to end of files only
[ ] Search horizontally across files
Obviously these might not all be equally easy/difficult to implement, and there might be a more logical arrangement than I have imagined here (e.g., the first 2 options listed could be combined). From a priority standpoint, the third option might be less important, and the fourth option might be the most important from my perspective.
