Syntax Highlighting is somewhat difficult because KDiff3 already
uses many colors for showing the differences. And switching to
another viewer/editor is definitely not easy.
I don't consider this very important, but perhaps somebody who
really needs this sends a patch ...

Maybe it can use background colors on changed sections. Background colors aren't widely used for syntax highlighting (at least in most popular languages).
