Hi,

I'm trying to compile kdar but make failed. I also
register this issue in dar n°879371 as I don't know the
impact of my pb.

Thanks

    Find hereafter the 'standard' crash:
    ./configure
    make

    => no use of make -f admin/Makefile.common cvs

    I've followed the RedHat 9 compilation procedure.

    As make failed, I put all the information on RedHat9.kdar file.

    I don't know how Simon Batchelor installed
    libstdc++-devel-3.3.2-1.i386.rpm (see my output).
    What are the aim of the directory and symbolic link?

    I retreive /opt/GNU/gcc-3.3.1 directory and the symbolic link

    I install dar-2.0.4 and try to compile kdar-0.3.4 but make
    fails in kdardlg.cpp (dar-2.0.4_kdar-0.3.4) exactly as in
    std_crash.kdar file.

    I set again /opt/GNU/gcc-3.3.1 directory and the symbolic link.
    => kdardlg.cpp compile without error
    => make fails with the same error than in dar-2.1.0_kdar-1.0 :
    'void libdar::infinint::infinint_from<long>(long)'

    refer to dar-2.0.4_kdar-0.3.4_directory file

    I have been able to reproduce your infinint::... errors by
    enabling largefile support on dar-2.1.0. Immediate fix, as
    suggested by Denis, is to configure libdar without largefile
    support.

    Denis, I agree that this problem should be fixed before the
    stable releases. I have to study your comments and understand
    this first though.

    kdar-1.0-beta2 now released on http://www.sf.net/projects/
    kdar should fix the largefile compilation problem (i.e.
    infinint::... problem). Please let me know whether you can get
    beta2 to compile.

    Also contains some code cleanup courtesy Sven Bergner.
