KDar 1.1.0 released

The KDE Disk archiver (KDar) is a backup and archiving utility that makes full and differential disk-based filesystem backups quick and easy. KDar 1.1 features many enhancements over 1.0, including a "create archive" wizard, and plenty of GUI improvements.

KDar is the KDE version of Denis Corbin's dar command, a full-featured backup and archiving program similar to tar, but which takes advantage of the random access abilitity of disks.
A sophisticated filter mechanism gives you full control over what files and directories to save and compress. Archives can be created as one big file, or they can be sliced. Choose from a list of pre-defined slice sizes including 4.7GB DVD, 650 MB CD-R, 100 MB Zip, 1440 kB floppy, and many more.

KDar is now based on QThreads, so the user interface remains responsive during the archiving operations.

For more information, including a changelog, visit the sourceforge hosting site, http://sourceforge.net/projects/kdar.
You can download kdar-1.1.0 there as well.

Screenshots and the latest news can be found at http://kdar.sourceforge.net .

If you like KDar, please contribute with ideas for new features, GUI improvements, or just spread the word.

Cheers,
JB
