    i've installed succesfully the 0.5.3 version and it seems (!) to work:
    * i get a message when connected
    * he finds my new emails and lists them in the Thread menu

    but when i click the icon (or choose one of the thread), i still am required to login (ie. fill in my user name and password) at the GMail site
    (it IS supposed to login at my mailbox, isn't it? i can't seem to find any information about that here...)

    anybody body any idea?
    i'm using FireFox as browser and am running KDE 3.2.1

      This is correct: there's no integration with firefox past the ability to launch it. Kcheckgmail logs in independantly, so for it to work the way you mention, it would have to insert cookies into firefox's cache, which it doesn't do.
      Simple workaround: log into gmail and select the "dont ask for my password for 2 weeks" option.

      Matt.
