Hello Mr. Steven Brown. You probably don't remember me: I'm the guy who managed to compile kcheat a few years ago ( https://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1706046&forum_id=9674 ).
Since that day I use kcheat a lot (even more now that many games are playable using wine) and I have been telling myself to get up and fix the code for about 3 years now and I think the time has come.
First of all, I created binary packages of the version I managed to compile. They are in the site http://www.linux.ime.usp.br/~lenin/kcheat/ . There you will find a Debian/Ubuntu package, a RPM package, a Slackware package and the modified source code I used (VEEERY MESSY). If you could put it in the Sourceforge repo, it would be great, since this page won't be mine for long, and nobody else knows it.
Second of all, I want to rewrite kcheat from scratch on a modern linux system. I'm thinking about separate all the internal stuff in a shared lib and make several front-ends that use this lib, so the app is not broken if a graphical lib changes, like happened with kde.
Anyway, I would like to know if you could give me some tips on how to do it, how should I cite you in the docs, if I can use the name 'kcheat', etc.
Any help from your part would be very much appreciated.
Farewell,
