Keyboarding Master 0.1.8 Beta has been released. This version primarily fixes some of the installation problems and udev rules problems.
There are still issues with Ubuntu 13.10 which I think is due to the kernel 3.11.x and above. I am looking into this problem (which also effects me due to a recent upgrade). The problem is the key inputs are not registering through jinput (the native library that works with Keyboarding Master). Hopefully the next release will see a fix.
Updates have been very slow on Keyboarding Master. Due to my world travels, professional contracting service (I have to make a living), and a new project called Pebble Instant, I haven't been able to put much work into KBM. I am planning on carving out some time per week to keep it going though. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up on the situation.
