I am running ubuntu 9.04 on intel and was wondering what versions of the software I should use.
    e.g.
    usbb2k-api-mod_2.8-1_i386_kubuntu8042.deb

in other words - how does one decipher the naming convention ?

    thx

There isn't a build for 9.04 but the 8.04 will probably work so give that a try if not you can uninstall it and compile from source.

    The naming convention is <software name><software version><processor type><OS name><OS version>

so 8042 is kubuntu 8.04 (actually i don't know what the two is for, presumably some sort of build number) for intel 386 (32bit ) processors.

Refer to the main site for a guide to building from source

Thx - I 'installed' the 8.10 version.  It stated that the programs were already installed - so maybe 9.10 comes with this in the distro.

Anyway - I get my 'box' in the next couple of days and will know then.  If there are problems I'll compile from source and see what happens.

I'll follow up with results when available.
