I tried to use my Yealink Telbox under Ubuntu 9.10 and 9.04; for both the result is the same: the sound is coming out only from the speakers, not from the DECT phone plugged on the box. From the phone I can dial a number but I cannot speak and hear anything.
But I am not very suprised because on the sound preference of skype I cannot choose the VOIP USB in the menu for the speakers and microphone. I can only choose from my internal audio card (Pulse Audio Server (local)).
For information this is my cat /proc/asound/cards:
0 : HDA-Intel - HDA Intel
HDA Intel at 0xe1280000 irq 16
1 : USB-Audio - VOIP USB Phone
Yealink Network Technology Ltd. VOIP USB Phone
Any help please, I really would like to make this box working.
Thanks in advance!

Maybe the Ubuntu forums would be a better place to get information about this.
The problem is connected with the Ubuntu audio setup.
I had a similar problem on PCLOS KDE4 and uninstalled pulse to allow Skype to use other devices.
There are most likely other solutions for Ubuntu ….

You should be able to use somthing like pavucontrol when skype is in a call to move the audio input and output between physical devices. I have no idea if my volums controls will still work though. Let me know how you get on.

Thanks for your help and advices.
It appears that this problem is coming from pulse audio.
I tried some tricks obtained on pulse audio wiki to solve my problem, but it doesn't work.
I am now tired to spend my evenings and week end to install diferrents distro/ versions of linux to solve that issue.
I will try last option: put Ubuntu 7.10 (very old, no excited to work with that), as some people reported it works.
If again it don't works for me: I will give up: i lost too much time already.
Regards.

The test sound in hardware sound of YAST is working. I thing, the problem is in configuration of ALSA. What B2k prerequisite in Alsa configuration?

If I tested ECHO/sound test service, sound went in speakers, MIC was correct from phone.
So I tested other sound devices and it works!
Now I have:
MIC: USB audio (hw 1.0)
Speakers: USB Audio default audio device, card=default
I use SUSE 11.2 with XFCE desktop. I re-install system from SUSE 11.2 Gnome. I couldn't solve this problem with Pulse Audio.

What is your exact problem, is it still just you get no sound out of the box ?
Can you not just drop back a version of skype, so that you can use the alsa version?
