      I guess you need kdelibs-devel too
      something like

      http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/5/x86_64/kdelibs-devel-3.5.5-0.2.fc5.x86_64.rpm
      #  kdelibs-devel-3.5.5-0.2: Header files and documentation for compiling KDE applications.

        $ yum install alsa-utils automake17 qt-devel kdelibs kdelibs-devel alsa-lib-devel libusb-devel kdocker
        Added 0 new packages, deleted 35 old in 16.98 seconds
        Parsing package install arguments
        Nothing to do
        $

        Still get configure error:

        checking for KDE... libraries /usr/lib, headers /usr/include/kde
        checking if UIC has KDE plugins available... no
        configure: error: you need to install kdelibs first.

      since the above command did not install any packages, it is still missing!
      have you tried installing them one by one?
      especially the kdelibs-devel-package?
      it could be that some of the other ones gives troubles ...

      have you tried downloading the direct link above and manually adding it in rpm?

      rpm -i kdelibs-devel-3.5.5-0.2.fc5.x86_64.rpm

      (should be the right version according to the info you posted above)

      hope this helps!

        hmm ... I have right now then no idea :(
        apart from doublechecking if the scripts search for the kdelibs in some place they are NOT and in that case making some symlinks?
        but I have asked the developer to look into this thread, he is using FC 5 himself, I have tested this only on Kubuntu 6.10 and Mandriva 2007 :-/
        hope he has better ideas! and that we can solve your problems :)

        :)

      I think this might have something to do with the libs directory actually being called lib64.

      try running configure as
      ./configure --enable-libsuffix
      or
      ./configure --enable-libsuffix 64

      Let me know how you get on

      Simon

      Sorry it should be

      ./configure --enable-libsuffix=64

      if it works let me know and I'll add it onto the guide

      $ ./configure --enable-libsuffix=64

      works.  But it is not the right way.

      $ ./configure

      *should* work.

      Feel free to submit a patch, that makes configure work for everyone !
