1) For the moment there seems to be no way to run Gambas2 applications in the current stable release of Ubuntu (14.04) any more. If though, (let me now how!) it should be no problem to run it, maybe compile the source for your machine; run it from the gambas2 IDE, and if it runs, use the Project / Make / Executable choice from the menu. (Also choose to make a link on the desktop.)
2) It might be possible to use Gambas3 to run the program, although small (or bigger) changes might be needed to the source code.
Give feedback, I will try to deliver a separate Ubuntu version if needed.
