There has been a lot of activity around Karrigell these days, here is a
summary :

- a new developer has just been added to the project : welcome Brian !
- Didier has written a new version which splits Karrigell.py into two
separate scripts, one for the server and another one (called
Template.Py) to handle the creation and rendering of the scripts. I have
committed the new version on CVS yesterday
- in this version, the argument passed to Include is handled as a URL,
allowing the use of aliases. Resolution of URLs into file names is
handled by a separate module, URLResolution
- PythonInsideHTML has been rewritten and tested, paying special
attention to indentation problems. An <indent> tag has been added. See

- with these improvements to Karrigell since version 1.1 I'd like to
release a version 1.2 in a few days

- I have begun using the bug tracker and encourage members to post bug
reports this way
- also begun using the task manager and created a task, the development
of a test suite by Didier (with an end date at random !). Now that we
are several developers we'll probably have to organize the work with
this kind of tools
- has anyone used the gadly database and the class/table mapping tools ?
I miss feedback on these. Anyway, I have completed the existing
gadflyStorage module, limited to one table by database, with a new one
called kStorage which allows for several tables. See

- Brian agreed to work on his reloadModules function, which cleans up
imported modules so that there's no need to restart the server every
time an imported module is modified
- he's also reported speed problems for Karrigell and especially the
parsing of PIH scripts, has anyone experienced the same problems ?
- I've been thinking these last days on "components", that is, how to
add for instance a forum  and a news publishing component in a page
without having to modify the components themselves (not sure if this is
the academic definition of components !). More on this later
