The Karoo project will soon be released as Production Quality code. Alpha testing did expose a few bugs, now fixed. The Beta testing will mainly be in place while a few extra features are added. The requirement for these features was identified during Alpha testing, and although many new features will be added after it is "Production Quality", these required features are vital. So it can't be called "production quality" just yet. However, the quality of the code is very good and already its been used for months now supporting our own web site.
A serious bug which occasionally caused the surf application to throw an exception with memory exhausted, has been fixed.
Rapid application development of database applications using PostgreSQL and a web front end in a browser are now possible using The Karoo Project.
A server and client, and middleware, can be put together in days, without writing any C/C++ code.... just XML, SQL, HTMML, and Javascript.
The Javascript API is now documented on The Karoo Project website

The Karoo Project now has a "Surf" application which is great for rapid database application development.
Its possible to create a database application with a WEB frint end, using only SQL, XML, and HTML (and probably some Javascript)... but no requirement for PHP, Java, or C++
The Karoo Project has now entered Alpha stage.
I've added a lot of code the last two months, and its almost 1 year old.
The documentation ofthis new code is unfortunately lacking, but the inevitable has happened: it is needed in production for 2 projects. One that will manage although it will only be in Beta testing stage when this project goes live, and another, that will only go live in about 1 year's time. By that time, it will be truly stable.
