    Hi All,

I'm opening a thread where we can list whatever karatasi databases we might have available for others to download.  If you have a karatasi database that others might be interested in, why not post a link here?

Perhaps later on, the karatasi databases can be included in the karatasi project files?  Just a thought.

    That's a good idea.

We have databases German (native) to Kiswahili, a huge one (15000 cards) and a smaller one (5000 cards). We will send them on request.

It would be great if we could find an volunteer who maintains a server for the downloads.

    Cheers,
      Mathias

Wouldn't it be possible to use sourceforge.net and include it as part of the karatasi downloads?

I'd appreciate if someone from the community could take this on ;-)

sourceforge isn't the right place for the databases, because it is intended for software projects, not for content. Either a dedicated web server or a content hoster would be better. And on sourceforge the developers have to manage the content, loosing time to develop.

The site could either be moderated or the users upload their databases them self. Moderated is easier to set up, but requires more work by the admin, and the admin has some liability to make sure that the database doesn't violate copyright, or other laws. If the site allows upload by the users, a system is required for authentication and storage management, but the users are responsible for the data.

    Mathias
