The updated sync code that works with the old cgi server is not tested. This requires the cgi scripts installed on a virtual server. This would be a chance to test https and an updated protocol with challenge response authentication.
The old Perl scripts don't work anymore because Perl:CGI hehaves different in these days. That means that I can't test against the old environment.
We will remove the documentation for the Perl scripts and mark the feature as deprecated. If needed I'll write a new CGI, but this time with propper authentication and https support.
We keep the sync function for the old protocoll in the app. There is a good chance that it is still working.
