Consider to migrate to html5, this is also the current recommendation of the W3C.
A nice source for a first introduction into HTML, XHTML, and HTML5 is
svn 3850: web manual is converted to html5, and its contents unified with iPhone manual.
Both use now the same source files, a script exists to synchronize iPhone manual sources from the web sources.
