1. Random/Sequential Playback - This has nothing to do with the Playlist since the Playlist is always played in a sequential mode. But, once one reaches the end of the playlist and presses the next button, this option determines whether the next song in the media library is played (arrows parallel) or a random song is played (arrows crossing).
2. Stop Playback after Song / Go on - If a hollow play symbol is shown, Karamel goes on to play the next song after a song finishes. If there is a vertical line at the end of the hollow play symbol, Karamel stops the playback at the end of the song, switches to the next song, but doesn't start playing it.
3. Expert Mode / Standard Mode - At the moment, the functionality behind this button is not implemented. In future, this button will enable to switch the player mode. The Expert mode will support: Singers (last song, songs sung today,...) Announcements for the next song, and much more.
4. Progress - The red progress bar can be clicked to jump to another part of the current song.
5. Time left / Time played - This indicator can be pressed to switch to another mode. Either it shows the played and complete time (e.g. 3:50 | 4:23) or it shows the remaining time (e.g. -0:33).

Playlist

Songs inside the playlist can be reordered by dragging and dropping them.

Media Library

Songs can be added to the playlist by double clicking them, dragging and dropping them, or right click + enqueue.
The media library also offers to export lists ordered by artist or title by clicking right and choosing "Export to CSV".
Another feature that is supported is duplicate detection (right click + detect duplicates).

FolderSelection
The Media Library can be filled by choosing "Library" and selecting some folders.
It will be refreshed automatically on each startup, but can also be refreshed manually.
The information in the Artist and Title columns can be configured.
By default the player priorizes tags to determine the artists and titles.
This can be changed by clicking Library and priorize file names filenames to determine the Artist and Title.
This feature can be used if your tags are not curated, but your files are named in a standard manner.

Example:
If most of your files are named like this Artist - Title.mp3. You can select priorize file names and use the Artist Title Separator " - " with the option Artist Separator Title to fill the correct artist and title.
If there is any song that isn't named in that schema, Karamel will detect this and fallback to using tags.

Supported Formats

  • MP3+G (zipped or in two files)
  • WMV
  • AVI
