Backlog Pyramid

The Backlog Pyramid allows you to sort the cards on your backlog into the order by which they should be worked on. Just drag any card you wish to work on sooner rather than later to the top left of the pyramid. If dropped over an emppty cell, the card will be moved to that cell, and hence that position in the ordering. If a card is dropped over an occupied cell, the two cards involved will switch positions.

The ordering of cards within the Backlog Pyramid is completely independent of their priority and/or severity, although such settings are used initially to place cards on the Backlog Pyramid.

Whenever you go to the Backlog Pyramid, any cards on the backlog that have yet to be seen by the Backlog Pyramid will be placed within any empty cells in strict priority/severity order.

Backlog Sorter

The Backlog Sorter consists of four priority blocks, each containing four severity columns, making sixteen columns in all. The Backlog Sorter allows you to organise the cards on the backlog by both priority and severity by dragging a card from one column and dropping on another. This ensures that the cards with the higher priority/severity appear towards the top (if you ignore the Backlog Pyramid section) of the backlog column on the kanban board.

Dragging and dropping cards around within the Backlog Sorter only alters their priority and/or severity settings and has absolutely no effect on their current position within the Bcaklog Pyramid. If a particular set of cards have yet to be seen by the Backlog Pyramid, assigning your cards the correct priority and/or severity via the Backlog Sorter might be to your advantage.

Votes

Votes may be allocated to any card on the backlog.
