Kanbanara 2.10

Hi All,

We experienced a problem with the themes and SCSS files in Kanbanara 2.9. This has turned out to be an issue with the PyScss library we are using. It seems that raising "global flags not at the start of the expression at position 1" was a warning in Python 3.10 but has been escalated to an error in Python 3.11. As a result, we are now rush releasing version 2.10 of Kanbanara. We also recommend Kanbanara being run on Python 3.10 for the time being.

We have also added a new Responsibility feature built around the phrase "The ball is in your court". Within Kanbanara itself, it is easy to see who is in control of a particular card, be it the owner, reviewer or quality analyst, but if you were to hand the control of a particular card to an individual who is not a member of the project, such as Support, a customer, etc. there was previously no way to indicate this in Kanbanara. For example, you might be forced to ask a question of a customer but you might not want them to directly become a member of the project in Kanbanara itself. By setting the new responsibility attribute on a particular card, you will know instantly who is responsible for making the next decision on the card - in other words, who is currently in control. A new Responsibilies page collects all the cards having their responsibility attribute set together, allowing a team member or a Project Manager to instantly see where the bottlenecks are when control has been passed to others outside the main project team. We have also added a new "Responsibility" card style which displays the phrase "The ball is in controller's court" at the top of each applicable card.

Best wishes,

Rebecca
