Hi, i had some troubles compiling kalsamix, it seems to be beter than kmix, but its not very mature, and i don't understand some things....

1) doing make didn't find -lkdeui (weird because im in gentoo and i have libs and headers for all the packages, i solved that comping libkdeui* from /usr/kde/3.5/lib64/ to the src dir :)

2) doing a simple click shows the whole mixer, not just the master/pcm its annoying :P but i see an option which says "item to show in short view

3) links tab in the options, i made one link, i still dont get whats for, and the "delete" is disabled, i had to delete the config file

4) next to the pcm slide control there is a vertical black bar,its always black and the vu-meter is moving....whats for?

5) the record slide works as in alsamixer, which is great! (it does nothing on kmix) but i can not select the capture source

6) by default it takes PCM as main control, but muted?

im sending you a screenshot so you can see what im talking about

7) on the OSD, PB & CP what do they stand for?

i having some troubles with my sound card, because its very new, but most problems seems to be software related...

PS i will translate it into spanish if i have the time :)

    1) Weird, maybe related to some qt4 bindings. Will check.
    2) That's a feature ;) if you want the "short" view, middle-click
    3) You're running SVN version, linking is not complete yet
    4) That's really strange, never saw this...
    5) Neither alsamixer has a mute on PCM, so very likely you won't have it in kalsamix too:
    that's hardware support missing
    5) and 6) Enable debug in config, run kalsamix from within a konsole and send me the output
    7) "CP" stands for capture, "PB" for playback. Too obscure, maybe, yes...

What version of ALSA are you running?

    1) my kalsamix is linked against QT3 (seen with ldd kalsamix)
    2) ok, im just used to kmix behavior, maybe this should be an option :)
    4) i dont know what to tell you i can maybe compile the SVN version on another machine?
    5) i need a new sound card, i know ;)

i deleted the config files and then ran kalsamix with debug, so im attaching you debug info, i also have an spanish translation, not big quality but usable :)

im running alsa from kernel 2.6.21 :)
    File Added: kalsamix_dbg.txt
