#28 Spurious line breaks in pasting

If you have the line:
abc1234abc

If you cut the 1234, and then paste without moving the
cursor you get the following 3 lines:
abc
1234
abc

I would have expected the paste to restore the original
line. Likewise pasting into another block of text
should not put in any line breaks.

A related issue is that you get double spaced text if
you press the return key and continue typing. I guess
the return is generating a <P> rather than a <br> tag?
This might be technically correct, but looks odd.
