Hi, I'm a brand-new JZKit user. I'm running the JZKit1.2.3 code downloaded from sourceforge.net, trying to connect to a SIRSI Unicorn Z39.50 server. Using ZClient or similar code, I can connect fine. When I submit a search such as "@attrset bib-1 @attr 1=1016 water", for example, I get output such as the following: Search Response Reference ID : Search:0 Search Result : true Result Count : 1372 Num Records Returned : 0 Next RS position : 1 I can vary the result count by changing the search term, but I always get 0 records returned. The response.records member is null. I have tried changing the record syntax and the elements without success. Setting the database name to anything at all gives me an exception. The server in question does not require authentication. Using the old JZKit1.0 software, I was able to successfully retrieve records from a demo Z39.50 server, such as bagel.indexdata.dk. Using the same query (and everything else) against the SIRSI server resulted in the situation described above--a result count > 0, but no records returned. What is the difference between "result count" and "number of records returned"? Is there some special secret setup for SIRSI servers? And is there any other information that could help relieve my ignorance? Thanks, JT |
