Hello, I wonder if there is anyone participating into this forum. Anyway, is there anyone who can successfully query chinese words ( or any language other than english ) by this JZKit?

The second question is, I can query by english, but my result contains chinese words, all those words become strange characters, is there any way to solve this? For example, something like new String ( title.getBytes("iso-8859-1"), "big5");?? I've tried using utf-8, but no success.

    Thanks!!

Hi, many character encodings in Z39.50 are not directly supported by java String class.  For instance LC (Library of Congress) use MARC21 records with MARC-8 character encoding.  Try MARC4J at http://marc4j.tigris.org/ and http://www.loc.gov/marc/specifications/speccharucs.html

      Hope it helps.
