I am struggling with the best way to do a (personal) application that involves: Creating a browser-based GUI with several data elements (these elements will be clicked on for data entry). What do I use to create this front end? These data elements will be put into a database. What database should I use? Five different sub-applications will be run against the data in the database. What should be used for these applications? Output will be reports and graphs based on the respective sub-application output data. The access will also be browser based. You will click on the report or chart you want to look at. What should I use for this output portion? I'm looking at VB with an Access Database, with Crystal Reports for the output. Also VB.Net with Access. Also Java, although I'm very unsure of what I would need here. Then someone told me about Python. Do you think Jython would be a good solution here? I'm willing to spend the time learning whatever I need to do this. Thanks for any input. Dick K. -- Richard Kirchmeyer, Ed.D.
