To solve your problem I think you need more info. When you run Jython, ie run Java, use the -Xint flag to disable run time compilation. This should show line numbers in PyTableCode so you can locate the fault. The Jython source code can be found under org/python/* in your Jython distribution so you can check out PyTableCode.java.
