Jim,

Check out the \jython..??\Demo\swing\Console.py
program. It was created on my machine when I installed
Jython.  When I run it I get a simple console that
allows using the up arrow and editing past command
lines.

I'm using jython-2.0a1 with jdk1.3 on a Windows ME
machine.
