Although I have not really looked into the code much, I know that jythonc is a seperate compiler from the compiler used in "regular" jython. Unlike Jython's normal compile, jythonc generates Java that then gets compiled via javac. "regular" Jython compiles directly to .class files. Other than that, I have to confess I know very little about jythonc. From what Samuele has told me, fixing jythonc is very tricky and would require much testing. In the future, I would like to see a jythonc that is based on the normal jython compile -- but I'm not sure how far into the future that could happen. -Frank |
