I was planning on fixing re for 2.3 next. Right now the tests cause oro to throw a couple of runtime exceptions, but that's about as far as I've gotten. I was thinking about pulling in the latest oro to Jython and starting to fix things. Reading their docs it looks like I'd need to add a few features to get them up to Python 2.3 level. If we move to 1.4 I could switch re from using oro to using java.util.regex. In a quick comparison to Python the only thing I found missing from Java's regular expression support is named capturing groups, and I'm pretty sure I could layer that on top pretty easily. I've never really used oro though, so maybe there's a reason we need to use it instead of java.util.regex Charlie On 7/11/06, Frank Wierzbicki <fwi...@gm...> wrote: > I could be persuaded to move up the future min environments some. > Maybe something like this: > > Jython 2.2: Java 1.2 > Jython 2.3: Java 1.4 > Jython 2.4: ?
