I got the issue with newly built jython2.2a0:
This is how I built it:
1. Platform: W2k, jdk1.4
# python.home is needed when building the documentation and installing
# PyXML sources.
# PyXmlHome is needed when running the installXML ant task to
# copy PyXML files to jython.
# Needed when building documentation.
3. Built sucessful and I add the CLASSPATH point to
PATH with c:\jython\dist
If I run jython from c:\ dos prompt, I can see: cachedir is built properly,
starts fine. The odd thing is: import sys; sys.path only shows:
seems that I have to append all the paths separately.
If I run jython from c:\jython\dist, I have: error importing site,
Traceback:(innermost last): File: c:\jython\dist\.\Lib\site.py, line 69 in ?
Syntax error, invalid syntax
Please help me figuring out what goes wrong.
Thanks in advance!

Another new finding:
1. I started the jytnon from c:\\ and appended the path by:
2. I have to do: import re twice to import "re" properly.
If I do: dir(re), I only see the default attributes starting
and ending with double underscores. How come I couldn't access
all the RE attributes?
I got the jython from CVS directly.
I appreciate your help!
