You should be able to implement (almost?) everything needed for ctypes
directly in jython via JNA.
I've attached a code snippet I did a few months back that uses JNA
directly from jython to demo a few things. Ignore the fact that its
ugly jython code - I was trying to figure out how to do the equivalent
of ruby's method_missing in jython.
It only runs on linux (or macosx with gstreamer installed) as is, but if
you comment those bits out, the basic C library stuff should work on
