Hi people,

I keep getting lots of errors like this, each time I start a jython program:

*sys-package-mgr*: processing modified jar, '/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.4.2/Classes/classes.jar'
*sys-package-mgr*: can't write cache file for '/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.4.2/Classes/classes.jar'

This is with Jython 2.1, on Mac OS X (currently 10.4, but I had the same problem with 10.3).  I've tried using "sudo" to run things as root, hoping that would help let sys-package-mgr actually write the cache files it wants to, but it had no effect.

Is there any workaround for this?  Or can anyone tell me exactly where it's trying to create the cache file, so I can figure out if there are file permissions I can fix that will help?  I can see that there are a number of pkc files inside the cachedir/packages directory in my jython installation, which seem to match the names of the jars that are triggering all the errors.  So maybe jython has successfully created the caches, but won't read them back for some reason. (?)

Google shows me a number of other users who have hit up against this, on a variety of platforms, but I've never seen a solution that works fo rme.  Any tips would be welcome...
