Hello, my name is Davis Silverman, I am a high school Senior living in the Suburbs of Washington D.C. I have been programming seriously for over a year now, and would love to be part of the Google Code In (http://google-opensource.blogspot.com/2013/10/google-code-in-2013-and-google-summer.html and https://developers.google.com/open-source/gci/) which is basically GSoC but for highschoolers aged 13-17 (I am 17 now) and we dont make any money!

I have a passion for Python and Java, and have recently been working on getting Libgdx and Jython to interoperate (you can see my moderate progress here). I have been working with libgdx for a few months, and mostly work on their wiki (which I transferred recently from Google Code to Github Wiki).

I would love to participate with Jython in the Google Code In. but it seems I need a mentor. Jim Baker (whom I talk to on IRC a lot) is unable to mentor me, as he is busy with his job, and referred me to this mailing list.

I was wondering if any of the Jython core devs would be willing to mentor me in the Google Code In. It would be awesome to work with 2 languages that I know and enjoy coding in, and I assure you that I will work hard in my tasks given, whatever they may be.

If you need to contact me, this email address (sinistersnare@gmail.com) is my primary means of communication, and I can also be reached on #jython on IRC usually from 5-11 (school and marching band hours).

Thank you so much for your time, and I look forward to hearing your responses.

~~Davis Silverman
