The pty requirement comes from pexpect. So if you want to have that part working, you need to make pexpect working somehow (Jim mentions a possible solution in that thread).

I'm interested in getting IPython to run on Jython. Right now it fails when trying to import the 'resource' and 'pty' modules. Digging further into the pty issue, it seems like one of its dependencies is termios, but `import termios` says that no module is found. I'm not sure how to expose termios though -- I understand that a bunch of modules are exposed via the .includes files, but non of the other modules listed together with TermiosModule in Builtins.java seem to be listed in any .includes file.

Also, if I want to get IPython support figured out, am I barking up the wrong tree here in trying to implement pseudo terminal support? I came across some old bugs that supposedly got IPython supported on Jython 2.5, and apparently some things were simply worked around.
