I am an indepened researcher in the University of Westminster in London/UK, we are researching on a self-healing methodology and we are interesting in using Jython as part of our research in a Java Framework. The reason I am writting to you is to understand whether Jython can be used in the jvm in interpreted mode only. So is there a way to say "disable dynamic compilation to bytecodes" or this is not possible?

Therefore, is the compilation of the script to bytecodes mandatory for Jython prior to working and interacting with the jvm and the rest of the virtual machine or not?

For example, you can get Rhino to work only in interpreted mode is this something that can be done with Jython as well?

Thank you and Regards,
Georgios C. Kossionis.
