I was _trying_ to play with JPE a month or so ago, at that
time the build process was rough, but it's supposed to be
fixed now. Be prepared for a much longer setup time
than with jython. If you want to run under win32 you'll
need Microsoft C++ to build (I haven't got that so I've only
done a linux build).

Once I actaully got it set up, I never got around to doing
much with it... it's not as seamless as jython IIRC, but
of course if has other advantages.
