Now uses more jdk 1.5 functionality (particularly generics)

The getInstance method is now synchronized.

Renamed the enum variable since enum is a reserved keyword in jdk 1.5

Changed the implementation and documentation of the methods that allow calling a stored procedure.

Used auto-boxing in all the examples.

Added some code from the 1.4 branch and added code to make use of the new jdk 1.5 possibilities.

Error text for a remote exception has been changed.

Exploited the new possibilities of jdk1.5

Non-existing sequences will now be inserted properly.
By the previous removal of the synchronized keyword multiple threads could simultaneously insert the same sequence,
resulting in a duplicate key.
The code is currently being reviewed by two other developers!

Made the logger instance final.
