I would like to be able to use JWNL as a library without having to access disk resources for the dictionary. While I appreciate that this requires a significant amount of memory, many servers have many GB of RAM now, with 64 bit support, so it is much more feasible now than it was 5 or 6 years ago. I hacked the latest release candidate of JWNL to load all of the resources from a stream (jar), and it appears to work (it passes all of the unit tests, and doesn't crash my program), but I essentially disabled support for any other type of loading of the resources, so it is probably not a good generic solution. I would be happy to share my hack if you are interested.
