My production site has a number of mail servers configured into it.
They reside in different divisions of NCAR. One of the SAs in one
division switched from UW to Cyrus IMAP. Their user logins stopped
working. Cyrus wants Trash, for example, in INBOX.Trash. User logins
failed because my site_template has Trash as "Trash", so Cyrus wouldn't
allow the Trash to be created at the top level.
Okay so far. :-)
Since <trashfolder> and <draftfolder> are site-wide settings, rather
than server-specific, I'm wondering if I can switch the site over to
the Cyrus style for these. I've tested this. When a new user logs
into UW IMAP, they still get Trash and Drafts created, even though the
specs are now INBOX.Trash and INBOX.Drafts (I suppose UW interprets the
INBOX as the user mailbox like Cyrus will). The SA who switched to
Cyrus hasn't tested this yet.
My general question is, do you think this is a reasonable approach?
That is, if I set <trashfolder> and <draftfolder> in site_template to
the style for Cyrus (INBOX.something), should UW IMAP continue to work?
