Hi Ale, Try following the example on http://jwebunit.sourceforge.net/, in particular you should be extending WebTestCase. You can then use assertTextPresent() directly. Hi Glyn, We recently switched the project licence from GPL to LGPL, which can be linked to, and extended by, by EPL software (I'm using JWebUnit in my EPL project too). The SpringSource dm Server project [1] has been successfully using JWebUnit for quite some time. Thanks for providing a great tool. We are in the process of donating dm Server to Eclipse.org as the Virgo project [2] and we have hit a problem: we cannot continue to use JWebUnit because of a license incompatibility between the Eclipse Public License and the GPL. (We didn't previously have this problem because dm Server is licensed under the GPL.) Might it be possible to add an exception to the JWebUnit license so that projects which use JWebUnit do not have to be licensed under the GPL? MySQL did something similar [3]. This would enable Virgo to use JWebUnit and may encourage other Eclipse projects to do the same. Hi all, I needed a method to access HtmlUnit's type() method, so that I could enter in text directly to an input (i.e. calling onKeyPress without calling onChange). In the latest SVN there is a new method to access the HtmlElement directly, so I could implement the type() method as follows: IElement element = getElementById(element_id); HtmlElement actual = ((HtmlUnitElementImpl) element).getHtmlElement(); actual.type(text); Would this be helpful enough to include in the public API for JWebUnit? I think it's platform-independent enough to go into the main API, but I think we'd also need to add blur(). My preference is to keep it as above for now. Cheers Jevon |

Actually I think that you are totally right... an XML parser with access the the XHTML Strict DTD should do that validation. Will think about it B ________________________________ From: Jevon Wright [mailto:je...@je...] Sent: 23 April 2010 02:57 To: Usage problems for JWebUnit Subject: Re: [JWebUnit-users] Testing for Valid XHTML Hi Benoit, I don't know of an easy way to do this - however I agree it would be extremely valuable. I think right now the only approach is to download a validating parser from W3.org (or something). I don't know of any validating parsers in Java, but I haven't done an exhaustive search. However if you'd like to propose a patch to include this validating functionality, that would be great! Since you're using XHTML, one easy solution might be to parse the XHTML with an XML parser - at the very least, this would mean you'd get notified of broken tags, etc. Cheers Jevon On Fri, Apr 23, 2010 at 1:25 AM, Xhenseval, Benoit <ben...@cr...> wrote: Hi Like my little "spider" test, is there an easy mechanism to check that all pages are following the document type? As soon as our webmaster starts to get too 'fancy' this would be detected...
