We have submitted the first Release Candidate for refactored JWebMail, Java Webmail. The presentation and feature set is pretty much unchanged from the previous public release (0.7.10) back in 2002, but the product is now a well-behaved web application. Numerous bugs have been fixed; development system totally re-designed to facilitate easy customization for command-line or IDE developers; application has been completely separated from runtime data and configurations to make upgrades and redeployments easy. The license has been changed to Apache 2.0 to encourage commercial usage while remaining completely open. Please see the User's Guide at http://jwebmail.sourceforge.net/jwebmail-guide.html for details, and comment or volunteer at our forums: https://sourceforge.net/forum/?group_id=2056 . |

Hi there, after a long time, I can finally announce the release of jwebmail 0.7.9. The changes: # Moved from Xerces 1/Xalan 1 to JAXP and Trax (i.e. Xerces 2 or=20 equivalent parser, Xalan 2 or equivalent transformer) (mostly by=20 Leonard Sitongia) # Moved from servlet API 2.2 to 2.3 (requires Tomcat 4.1) # Moved from JTidy to nekoHTML for parsing HTML messages # Updated jaf and javamail libraries - removed gnu.regexp package # now requires JDK 1.4 (regexp support) # bugfix: Sending messages works again for non-English locales # HTML message support modified # bugfix: better support for MS Windows (Christian Senet) # bugfix: compose message now 80 columns instead 40 # French translation (Christian Senet) - removed the Shockwave banner from bibop template Credits go to Christian Senet for his work on the French translation and to Leonard Sitongia for doing much of the work on moving to the new XML parser interface and giving new life to the project. Now we will be working towards a 0.8 release with some major changes. Hello! After a long time, I now released WebMail 0.7.7. The changelog contains some interesting improvements: + Chinese Templates + WebApp and WAR-support for Tomcat (and other Servlet API 2.2 servers) + Ant build instead of makefile Furthermore, there are numerous bugfixes, there is less to configure in the initialisation (web.xml file), and some other improvements (it is now possi= ble to specify a default locale and theme, ...). On the other hand, the standalone server has been removed, since it is much more convenient to use Tomcat as a development platform. --=20 Sebastian ***************************************************************************= ** * Dipl.Inf. Hello everybody! I have uploaded version 0.7.6 today (even although I didn't expect that the= re would be a 0.7.6).=20 This is mainly what has been in CVS for a week or so and proved quite stabl= e. The following changes have been made since 0.7.5: - Tomcat support. WebMail 0.7.6 comes with some sample configuration files = for=20 Tomcat and the Servlet class has been fixed to work with Tomcat (at least, should fix problems with other servlet engines also). - Improved HTML message support. HTML messages now get parsed (and tidied u= p!) and possibly dangerous tags will be removed (like JavaScript or Image) and instead displayed to the user. - Improved challenge/response authentication (by Devin Kowatch) - User names containing "@" now work as WebMail logins (this is necessary f= or QMail/Courier virtual domain support) - Various bug fixes and code cleanups --=20 Sebastian PGP Key fingerprint =3D =20 13 1D 2E 4F 20 3E C9 1F 4C 57 52 87 8A 80 48 4D F5 E9 97 EC=20 |

The fixes for the wrong pathnames in RPM and DEB packages have been uploaded. You can download them at the usual places, but you won't need it if you already solved the problem manually. -- Sebastian Schaffert *************************************************************************** * EMail: wa...@wa... * * WWW: http://www.wastl.net * * PGP-Public-Key: available on request * *************************************************************************** |

Hello all of you. Today I have finally released WebMail v0.7. There have been many bugfixes a= nd some enhancements since the last prerelease, most of them were ideas that you on the mailinglist suggested (bug fixes, "autoexpunge"). Also, there are now Debian and RedHat packages available that should make y= our life easier when installing WebMail as a Servlet. You will see the details = on the download page. If you install the packages on a "plain" system in the= =20 correct order, you should have a running WebMail within minutes. --=20 -- Sebastian Schaffert ***************************************************************************= ** * Sebastian Schaffert sch...@in...= * * Rechnerbetriebsgruppe 089-2178-2137= * * Institut f=FCr Informatik Oettingenstra=DF= e 67 * * LMU M=FCnchen 80538 M=FCn= chen * ***************************************************************************= ** |
