Dear Sir, I've just get your FCKEditor's GWT code from SF, actually it's a nice job you have done. When I configure it for my current project, I found it's better to eliminate the GWT's module name from the load path. Our current project is a commercial one, so it's may incompatible with LGPL. due to this reason, I send this mail to you and ask for you approval to modify just a line of code to let it work for our project. Hope you will agree, Thanks. Daniel. _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail is redefining busy with tools for the New Busy. Hi JWC Team, I implemented a TinyMCE wrapper for GWT before stumbling across your project. Mine is very simple, and a bit customized to my application, but I am definitely running into one of the issues you mention on your page: none of the editor events are passed to registered handlers. This will be > fixed in an upcoming release. Seems like there are others looking for this solution: http://groups.google.com/group/google-web-toolkit/browse_thread/thread/4e2888d7a1d92f13/833af154fd5aa624 http://groups.google.com/group/google-web-toolkit/browse_thread/thread/dd6740d2084831be/993703fb892619a7 Have you come up with a solution to this issue? Thanks! -Brian |

Hi, I have a GWT app which pops up a gwm dialog box with two TinyMCE controls on it. setHTML doesn't work as soon as the widget is instantiated, so I overrode the onload() event to set the HTML in there, which still didn't work. If I check isattached() within this method then it returns true, which makes it strange that the setHTML doesn't work. Having torn my hair out over this without finding a way to definitively check if the widget is ready to accept text, the only workaround I could find was to load up the dialog box off screen, wait a second and a half then call setHTML and move the dialog back on screen. Is there anything i'm missing, or is there a more reliable way of checking when the widget is ready to accept some text? Thanks, Sean |

Hi, I've today released an update to the JWC packages, up to version 0.2.1. JWC provides a number of separate components, including formatting helpers, context menus (and general context event handling), TinyMCE and FCKEditor implementations as GWT components. Notable changes since v0.1.1: - GWT 1.4 only - Drop-in replacement components for DockPanel, HorizontalPanel and VerticalPanel dropped in favour of helper Formatter classes instead. - Context event handling system rewritten, including various IE bugs fixed. - TinyMCE and FCKEditor implementations upgraded, and made standalone components More information at http://jwc.sourceforge.net/ Downloads at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=169388 Steve ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo! Henrik, Yes, I've been getting an updated version together. I wasn't really planning to do an update to the jwc-gwt-spring however, as I'm going to be recommending people start using the GWT Server Library which can be found at http://gwt-widget.sourceforge.net/ which I believe provides a superior implementation, and I don't see the point of having 2 competing components. It should be very simple to migrate over to the Server Library. I'll try and do a compatibility update to the jwc-gwt-spring components anyway, but it will be definitely deprecated after that. In the other components, there are various architectural changes which won't be backward compatible I'm afraid: - GWT 1.4 support only going forward - GWT 1.4 has some significant improvements generally, and some specific enhancements that I want to take advantage of. - jwc-gwt-tincemce v0.2.0 will have an upgrade of tinyMCE to 2.1.1.1, and be a standalone now rather than depending on the jwc-gwt-components package. It also won't be an extension of TextArea anymore, following the GWT RichTextArea paradigm. This allows extra tinyMCE features to be added in - jwc-gwt-fckeditor v0.2.0 will also be a standalone component, with the the same model that extra fck specific features can then be added in. - jwc-gwt-components v0.2.0 will drop support for the TabPanel, as the Rocket GWT framework provides a better implementation. Additionally, the replacements for DeckPanel, HorizontalPanel and VerticalPanel will be dropped in favour of a Formatter based model. While this is obviously not backward compatible, it provides for more flexibility to be able to apply the same style to all standard components wherever they are generated. Finally, the Context/right-click event handling has had a major overhaul, and should now be more functional and stable. Hi, I've managed to engineer this by subclassing you HtmlTextArea and adding a little JSNI; you may wish to add this to a future version of HtmlTextArea. [see attachment] Cheers Ellis. Hi, The current implementation for TinyMCE doesn't propagate change events back to the HtmlTextArea's listeners (addChangeListener/onChange), which would be very useful. Have you any ideas for how this could be achieved? Thanks! Ellis. |
