Interview about JVoiceXML (German only)

Dr. Dirk Schnelle-Walka, Area Head at the Telecooperation Lab, Technische Universität Darmstadt, was nominated Face-of-the-Week by the Voice Community following a recent expert interview. In the interview, Dr. Schnelle-Walka talked about his Open Source Project JVoiceXML, a free VoiceXML interpreter. He provided insights about the status achieved so far and about future plans for this project; he also discussed possible uses of the interpreter in commercial settings and ongoing research at Telecooperation about hands-and-eyes-free access in pervasive environments. Both, the Telecooperation lab and the JVoiceXML project benefit from their collaboration. Moreover, he envisioned how an open source product like JVoiceXML may influence the market in Germany and Europe, currently dominated by only a few big players.

The Voice Community is "the" speech technology platform and expert network in Germany.
