Sometimes the cursor takes the shape of the rotate tool without clicking on the
rotate tool.
I tried to repeat this problem that has been reported to me and noticed a strange
behaviour of the R shortcut :
with zoom tool, it changes the cursor to rotate tool until the key is released
with pan tool (or select) it changes the cursor to rotate permanently
with "zoom in/out, wheel, pan" it changes the cursor to rotate until the next
mouse action.
Rotate tool also appears if one edit a layer name (double-click on layer name) and write a new name including the 'R' letter.
Confirmed with r.4071 otherwise but I could not reproduce the appearing of Rotate tool when editing layer names.
confirmed. edit a layer name, keep at it but place the mouse cursor over the map view. now enter r into the layer name ;)
this is because the shortcut listener is listening whatever is in the focus of OJ, which is whatever was clicked last (edit panel button, toolbar buttons...). as we want shortcut's to simply work and not the user have to activate a special gui part beforehand it is implemented taht way.
so essentially this is a duplicate of "pushing enter in layer name renaming flashes statusbar".
will have a look at it some time, but not high on my list as it is essentially harmless.
