I am using XP Pro SP3\. I installed Juice 2.2 in D:\Programs\Juice, but when I ran it I forgot to change the default download folder. This was a problem because I have a very lean C drive(easy backup and imaging). I moved the downloaded Podcasts to D drive and changed the download folder in Preferences. However, this didn't work, Juice still looked in the old, default folder so the Podcasts were marked as Removed.
I decided to start over again. Uninstalled Juice using Control Panel > Add/remove programs. The first thing I saw was that the Juice folder had not been removed and still contained two sub-folders, Localization and Plug-ins, and a log file. So I deleted the Juice folder, and used JV16 to clean anything left behind in the registry. However, when I re-installed and ran Juice the Podcasts I had previously subscribed to, Science Friday and Car Talk, were already listed.
So that leaves 3 questions.
1. The uninstall routine asks, "Are you sure you want to completely remove Juice and all of its components." So how did the second installation have any way of knowing that I had previously subscribed to anything?
2. Why bother with an uninstall routine if it doesn't uninstall the program?
And 3. How can I "completely remove Juice and all of its components" so that nothing whatsoever is left behind?
Since there hasn't been a single response I can only assume that the people who write code in SourceForge.net only know how write code that installs a program, but haven't yet thought as far as writing the code to uninstall it. Or maybe they never imagined that anyone might be able to live without it.
