i have noticed version 0.3 is extremely slow compared to older versions. i am guessing this because QScintilla instead of QTextEdit. i have watched cpu usage and seems to spike. scrolling is slow and does not respond well.

Hm... it's REALLY strange because when I was doing initial tests comparing QTextEdit and QScintilla, the latter one was much faster, especially in opening and processing large files (~0.5-1 MB and more).
Now I'm testing it at Debian Etch, Debian Lenny, one of Ubuntu (don't remember its release) and Windows and can't see any performance problems.
Could you provide some more information: your distro, version of QScintilla, what kind of files are opening and so on... ?
