End of make output on my Gentoo-ppc system:

==== making
src/linux_ia32/product/deliver/usr/share/man/man3/Judy.3x.bz2
+ links
tool/obj/jhton_linux_ia32 doc/ext/Judy_3x.htm | grep -v
'^[ ]*$' | /usr/bin/bzip2 \ >
src/linux_ia32/product/deliver/usr/share/man/man3/Judy.3x.bz2
/bin/sh: /usr/bin/bzip2: No such file or directory
make: ***
[src/linux_ia32/product/deliver/usr/share/man/man3/Judy.3x.bz2]
Error 127
bash-2.05a$ which bzip2
/bin/bzip2

I've worked around it by making a symlink to bzip2.

    Fixed in version 0.1.7 available at
    <http://judy.sourceforge.net/downloads>
    The linux build was changed to "gzip". This may be easily changed in
    the file "make_includes/platform.linux_ia32.mk".
