java.tri version 0.7 is out

java.tri is an open source code generation framework, an easy to use plugin for eclipse and a integrated environment to start j2ee applications.
It's inspired in the MDA (Model Driven Architecture) paradigm. It takes a UML model from a Case-tool (including free tools like ARGO-UML) and let you enhance the specifications with j2ee technology oriented information, and in the end you have java code generated in a running hibernate based application.
java tri new version 0.7 has several improvements on usability like new application view and improved form designer.... read more

jtri with Argo 0.2 :use UML 1.4

Hi.
The new Argo 0.2 version has upgraded UML-XMI from 1.3 to 1.4 version. That's great news to us!
But our current tool is unable to import zargo models with UML 1.4 version. But there is a workaround: export your model to XMI and import it by using the UML menu Import from->XMI 1.4

Hope it helps

java.tri generates Tomcat applications

Starting at version (0.65), java.tri implemented a special template that generates tomcat configuration code. You will need a tomcat web application server installed and you can regenerate your application to tomcat server (in the build default objects menu). Them, just copy'n'paste the deploy menu to tomcat.

We will work in a stand-alone tomcat demo to help new users with java.tri Model Driven Application Generator.... read more

java.tri releases preview of "IReport with hibernate" tool

We made some contribution to the ireport/jasper reports project to integrate with hibernate. This contribution may take some time to show up, so we posted a "preview" version on our project website.
There are 2 bundles, one to execute standalone and another to execute as eclipse plugin with java.tri plugin.
This IReport version has a graphic HQL tool where you can design reports based in HQL and javabeans properties at the same time. You just have to add hibernate configuration files and db driver to the classpath.... read more

java.tri new home page

NEW WEBSITE for java.tri
As a contribution from my brother in law, the new home page design for jtri is ready to use on:
http://jtri.sourceforge.net/
I also registered a domain on my home country:
http://www.jtri.com.br/
Unfortunately, I can't get a "org" domain on brasil without opening an ONG or something. Also there is already an ong named jtri somewhere else. I think I will have to change the project's name soon or later.... read more

java.tri 0.3 released: hibernate 3 based tool

java.tri is an eclipse plugin to build java web MVC applications. It imports UML models from XMI compatible tools \(Poseidon,Argo,Rational and others\) and generates java code, hibernate mappings and full functional web interfaces, speeding up web development and hibernate use.
This new version was redesigned to use hibernate 3, and has a new tutorial that can guide new users to use this tool. Java.tri generates code using Apache Struts and integrates easily with jboss environments by using the jboss plugin. Java.tri uses velocity to generate code, and can be easily extended to generate completely different code from the same specification.
Everything specified in java.tri cames from XMI documents or is saved on XML documents \(by using Eclipse EMF\), so that it can be used as metainformation in future applications or new technologies.
Give a try to java.tri.
