I've played with Brian Zimmerman's Swing PythonConsole, and I'm about to try out gumby from itemj.com, but I'm extremely fond of IDLE, it's my favorite editor.
I have been working on rewriting in java swing, but this is the best way to go!
not only will it allow me to use IDLE for Java Development, but it will make it easier for me to persuade companies to let me use JPython for development projects.
    thanks muchly!

A 100% java/python version of Tkinter would IMHO be an very valuable addtion to JPython. I hope someone will eventually release such a module. My JNI version have some benefits, but I believe a 100% java version would have other usefull benefits.

The bad news are that IDLE is a bit too slow to be really usefull at the moment (version 0.2). I have a set of ideas for changes which I will try. I think (and hope) that I can improve the speed so much that IDLE can be used as one possible IDE for jpython.

      You'r welcome :-)
